Many car rental services feature promotional discounts and coupons to increase business volume. These discounted rates have created a unique Internet subculture. Today, a variety of travel sites freely discuss and exchange discount codes and promotional rates to assist travelers to rent a car at the most affordable rates.
Nearly every organization that employs more than 100 individuals is eligible for or offers some type of discount. Individuals who are employed by a government organization, well-known retailer, technological company, chain of fast food restaurants, manufacturing company, and janitorial companies probably can receive some type of discount. Furthermore, many of the company codes feature added services in addition to these discounts on pricing. Additional incentives which may be negotiated in the rental price are offered by several of the larger providers. For example, rental agencies like Hertz or Avis frequently vie for a particular customer's business. They may weigh in with perks like free fuel fill-ups, forgiveness of additional insurance costs, and not charging the typical one-way fee. In some cases these rental agencies will offer discounted business rates or may suggest the exchange of corporate discounts for guaranteed long-term return business. Individuals employed by companies granted a corporate discount rate may take advantage of the lower rates by presenting their employer ID. Such employees can rent at the discounted rates whether or not the travel is related to their jobs, and without regard for the amount of time they have been employed by the corporation. A person without possessing proper credentials and uses few discount codes, may violate some rental agreements, but those who belong to a certain organization or group can avail themselves of other discounts. These groups include Citibank credit card users, Costco, holders of GEICO insurance, Sam's Club, and those who buy Entertainment Books. A few exciting coupons and corporate discounts are provided by these books. The tempting coupons consists of free fuel fill-ups, extra free days on weekends, free upgrade to the next higher grade of cars and no money to be paid for weeklong rentals. Check with your car rental company when planning your trip. When you've made a list of potentially useful discount codes, try and get a quote for each one. The discount for any given code will vary by type of car, day of the week, location and season. If you do your homework and plan accordingly you stand to save a significant amount of money. The amount of money you save also depends on the length of your trip and the number of persons and vehicles involved. For a greater chance of locating your target rate on a trip and future trips, search extensively. The harder you work, the more apt you are at getting a good deal.
